What started as a monthly Instagram Live conversation has become…
Open Dialogue, a podcast by Passport 2 Pleasure!
Each episode I sit down with a friend or colleague, each sexperts of various specialties, to discuss all things sex, love, and all relationships.
You can expect these first 10 podcast episodes once a week for now. If enough people upgrade their subscriptions to support my work for $8/month or $80/year, I’ll be able to relaunch the podcast (aka continue making it) but with a proper studio to start producing high level video content including special product giveaways for you!
This episode’s special guest was New York Times best-selling author and celebrated civil rights attorney and activist, Lisa Bloom.
Lisa Bloom is an American attorney and the founder of one of the largest civil rights law firms in the United States, the Bloom Firm. Known for representing high profile clients such as Janice Dickinson, Blac Chyna, and Mischa Barton, Bloom primarily advocates for ordinary people, especially victims of sexual harassment, domestic violence, discrimination, racism, and police excessive force.
Bloom attended undergraduate school at UCLA, earning her bachelor’s and graduating Phi Beta Kappa, as well as the National College Debate Champion. She then received her J.D. degree from Yale Law School before beginning work in New York, where she went after the Boy Scouts of America for sex discrimination, filed a child sexual abuse suit against the Roman Catholic Church, and sued the LAPD.
Bloom then went on to have a career in the cable news industry, serving as a legal analyst for networks like CBS News, CNN and MSNBC, while also having appearances on shows such as The Situation Room, The Insider, and the Early Show.
Following her time on television, Bloom began practicing law again and founded the Bloom Firm. Here, she represented a number of high profile clients, including Janice Dickinson in her famous lawsuit against stand-up comedian Bill Cosby. In 2017, Bloom represented a group of women accusing former Fox News anchor Bill O’Reilly of sexual harassment, which ultimately ended in the firing of O’Reilly and the termination of his program on Fox.
Bloom is also an author with three books out, including the well known book Think: Straight Talk for Women to Stay Smart in a Dumbed-Down World. Daughter of trailblazing attorney Gloria Allred, Lisa is a powerhouse in her own right paving the way for victims of SA to not only be legally heard, but valued and celebrated.

These orgs will soon be coming out with a toolkit you can take to your local city councilperson and advocate for similar policies [to the ones in Somerville and Oakland] to be taken up in your city. It will include relevant research and educational information, case examples, legal insights, and advocacy strategies.

In this episode — originally recorded on 13 May 2024 — Lisa and I discuss the wide ranging impact of the lack of state and federal legal protections for multipartner families, as well as the growing awareness and support at a local level in cities and municipalities from Massachusetts to California.
